39 out of 40 students sat for CWS 2 on Thursday, 10 March.
Highest - 19 / 20 marks (Yay!!!)
1 student scored 19 marks.
Lowest - 9 / 20 marks (Try harder!!!)
1 student did not manage to pass.
Class average - 14.46 marks
Comments: Generally, the children who scored more than 12/ 20 would have done relatively quite well in the grammar section. The grammar questions were not difficult and many question types had already been taught in class. Likewise, in the sentence synthesis section, the questions types were covered. I had gone through the notes in their assessment books and they also brought back home to do. I also went through the correct answers and they completed their corrections. Lastly, many children did not do too well in the comprehension cloze section. For that section, they need to understand the text fully and then employ a slew of strategies to arrive at the correct answers. I will teach the class those strategies once school reopens.
