- Many students were not able to answer the sentence synthesis and transformation question on "unless". Many of them thought that "unless" has exactly the same meaning as "if". FOLLOW-UP ACTION: Madam Chia will revise commonly tested items with the students before the examination and the last two consolidated worksheets. Such questions may appear in Section A Grammar as conjunction MCQs.
- In the cloze passage section, there were many students who could not get questions that require collocations knowledge like "in vain" and phrasal verbs like "paid off" correct. FOLLOW-UP ACTION: Madam Chia has been pointing out phrases that are collocated whenever she goes through grammar worksheets and learning sheets. It is a good idea for your child to jot down such collocated phrases in the "I love English" exercise book.
Thank you for reading. That is all for now.
